Methodology and limitations

This is a heuristic single-page audit of publicly retrievable signals. Unknown checks are never reported as missing, but they do not earn verified-readiness points; not-applicable checks are excluded. A provisional evidence-backed score is shown when at least 5% of its weighted checks can be completed, and every score displays its coverage and confidence. A reader-only result cannot establish that head metadata or JSON-LD is absent. The tool does not submit live prompts to Google, ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity, and no audit can guarantee indexing, citations or rankings.

The methodology follows public guidance from Google Search Central, OpenAI's publisher guidance, Perplexity's crawler guidance and Schema.org. Crawlable, useful content remains the foundation; special AI schema is not required for Google's generative search features.

What is the difference between Auto, Rendered and Source mode?

Auto is recommended and chooses the best checks available. Rendered tries to check the fully loaded page, including content added after loading. Source checks the page before extra content loads.

Can the audit detect content or schema added by JavaScript?

When a secure loaded-page view is available, yes. The audit compares it with the original page code and can detect metadata or JSON-LD added after JavaScript runs. Script text alone is treated only as a clue, not proof that schema appeared on the page.

What happens if Rendered mode cannot check the fully loaded page?

The scan continues with the original page code, readable page text, application scripts and search-access files it can reach. Checks that require the fully loaded page are marked Needs verification instead of being reported as failures.

What happens if Source mode cannot retrieve the original page code?

With backup services enabled, the audit tries readable page text so a limited report can still finish. Code, page-setting and structured-data checks that cannot be confirmed are marked Needs verification. If no method can read the page, the audit asks you to try again later.

What does Needs verification mean?

Needs verification means the audit could not obtain enough reliable evidence for that check. It is not reported as a confirmed failure, but it does not earn verified-readiness points until the signal can be observed.

Why might the report show Not scored instead of a number?

A provisional evidence-backed score is shown when at least 5% of the weighted checks for that score can be completed. Every score also displays coverage and confidence. Checks that could not be observed are not reported as confirmed failures, but they cannot earn verified-readiness points.

What are backup reading services, and what information is shared?

The page address is first sent to Market Me Global's same-origin scan service, which retrieves public website information without browser CORS restrictions. If backup services are enabled and that path is unavailable, the public page address and a limited number of public linked-resource addresses may be sent to AllOrigins, and the page address may be sent to Jina Reader. Reader text is not used as proof that head tags, JSON-LD, images or HTTP settings are present or absent. Local, private-network and credentialed URLs are blocked.

Which AI crawlers should my website allow?

For AI search discovery, make sure robots.txt and site security do not unintentionally block Googlebot, OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot. Crawler access does not guarantee visibility, but blocking these systems can prevent them from retrieving public content.

Do I need special AI schema or an llms.txt file?

No special schema is required for Google's generative search features. Use accurate structured data that matches visible content. An llms.txt file can provide supplemental machine-readable context, but helpful public content, crawlability and clear entity signals remain more important.
